Things I Ate in Europe Part 1

In September, Ains and I spent 10 days in Amsterdam and France. A highlight of the trip, not surprisingly, was the food. We start in Amsterdam…

Our first lodging was the Blue Moon Bed and Breakfast which came with this wonderful European style meal every morning. Eggs, pastries, fresh orange juice, coffee. Yum.



Amsterdam has great beer. A special treat was that Hefeweizen and Belgian beers came with a special stick used to mash up your lemon. Not sure why they haven’t introduced these in the States.




These delights were from our canal-side lunch with Susie and Jamon. Mine was the burratta cheese and bread salad. Susie had the fish and chips. The other cheese was a baked brie over greens.


These next two, I didnt actually eat. But they have vending machines of fast food.




Our next culinary adventure was Pannoekoeken. Dutch pancakes. We went to “the place” for these pancakes and tried a bunch. Spinach and Brie. Apple and Onion. And A sweet one with nutella and berries. And ice cream of course.
